Summer time, computer crashed...what other excuses can I use for the delay??

POSTED BY LINDSAY:

Well the summer has passed and school has started so you know what that means, dad is back to work. If you ask me I think he was pretty ready to go back. He was doing things like throwing the football to me, running up and down the stairs with me on his back, and one time it took 30 minutes to find him from playing hide and seek...he came in the front door with keys in his hands????

I have been getting around pretty good. I don't like to fall down so I am cautious and like to hold someones hand whenever I am going down the stairs. I know what I want and when I don't get it I have to let mom and dad know that I am not happy as the picture shows.

Mommy doesn't like this picture so I put this other one to show a happy time with grandpa.

My hair has been growing and getting longer, daddy is always teasing mommy saying he is going to cut it. I don't think he is serious my hair isn't even that long. The last week I started sleeping in till 7:30 and only taking one long nap during the day instead of two. I am not sure if I will stay with this schedule, I am giving it a try for now. Here they caught me sleeping in.

I really like to be outside, I am lucky that grandma and grandpa watch me a few times a week and I get to play in their backyard . Well it is about bathtime for me and then ninight...
til next time....byebye

Getting some good sleep

"Alex do you like my glasses?"

L is now 13.5 month old and things are moving along. She has been walking since about her birthday. Her favorite word for the last two weeks was "Daaada". I don't think she was actually refering to dad, but I went with it. Mom was getting very tired of it. Guess what mom's wish came true. Just recently "Maaaama" has been thrown into the mix. Thanks for the previous two weeks girl, they were fun and I loved it.

"L, you grab the cake and I'll take all the presents."

I know this will come and kick me in the @#! but L has been sleeping through the night for the last week. WOW is that what sleep is like? I had forgotten. I guess now that I said that I can kiss it goodbye, we'll see. I am sure as the teeth continue to rupture through things will change. So far she has two on the bottom and an upper "fang" coming in. I can hear my mother and mother in-law (both in the Dental field) saying it is called an incisor....yeah yeah I like fang.

We have been plenty busy this summer and would have it no other way. L has been able to get some good visits in with her cousins and family which has been so special for all of us and we look forward to more in the future as she grows.

"Daddy, can we take him home?"

"Mmmmm, mommy I haven't had this before."

Gotta love dinner time.

Bye for now.

She walks!!!

IMITATING...I swear I fixed that typo and still it appears on the final video @%!$* Sorry I am not going to upload the video again, takes too long. So as you can see L has started to walk. It has been fun watching her gain confidence each day. Of course, with the confidence comes more falls. Today she fell face first onto the wood step. Tomorrow I bet she will have a bruise on her forhead.

Here we are out caching with the folks. You might not have known this but we do things on a grand scale here in Sonoma. It was a beautiful sunny day so we took a little moment to lounge around.

It's birthday time...we had a great birthday weekend. The weather was perfect. L had a good time with everyone and scored on some great gifts, thank you all!! I can't believe the year has already gone by. Mommy was very excited to find that L finally has gotten her first tooth, yepee! You might have noticed how L has taken the "role" of a celebrity by changing into a different dress for her same birthday party (actually mommy just couldn't make up her mind and one got the cake on it)

And finally the cake eating....hope you enjoy...good thing I had the video going otherwise mommy would have missed this precious facial expression!!

Having fun with the videos

Ok I am up later then I should be...so I will try to get this on the blog...we will see how long it takes to upload. This was during our recent visit to GV, just before the great grandparents had to go to lunch.

Some nice weekend get aways

This post is due to the fact that RMM reminded me that some people still check this out. Thanks for the reminder...So the last two weekends we have gone to the cabin and then up to GV. It was great to have some down time and then visit the folks. L as always has been a trooper for travel, good thing because the next couple of months are packed.

Trying to get a pretty cute video up and showing....

I think I got it!!!Yepee. Will post more later.

Out for a hike today, of course had to do some caching at the same time. It was a great hike with a lot of horses out on the trail. We picked the fire road so we could use the stroller instead of the pack ( actually since I am the mule I chose the fire road option)

So we are on to the next step. L is loving the hand foods. Here she is shoveling some bread in her mouth with a smearing of blueberries. I think Shaylor is pretty happy about this new feeding style. Half of L's meal is on the ground so of course Shaylor will come in for the cleaning.

L still prefers to stand over crawling.
Here she is helping daddy lower the crib so when she gets up on her own
she doesn't fall out of the crib on her own

"Daddy we did it, yipee!"

Getting late again, til next time:)

Dominican part 2

Here we are at 4:30am getting ready to take the shuttle to the airport. Notice the 8 people and 20 bags.

Once in the Dominican, L seemed to enjoy the warm weather. Here she is at the mother's house in Santiago.

Here we were on a side road near the beach looking for a cache. Notice the black water collection tank on the house on the left, a common site. You may also notice the flowing "water" on each side of the road, another common site.

Towards the end of our stay we were in the mountains. This was a nice hotel just very isolated, though not too far away they had nightly baseball games. We went to check one out and I was surprized to see that the baseball game was actually a fast pitch softball game. We stopped and watched for awhile.

While in the mountain, Jarabacoa, we did manage to do get a little hike in. Though it was warm enough outside we opted not to test the water, for fear of what might be up stream.
Until next time Adios.
PS. We love to check the comments
Thanks Jenia for the first one!!

Dominican Republic

(picture is of some local boys down the street)

Hi all, here goes our first blog....

I will type and M with edit (critique). We made it home safe and healthy after 8 days in the Dominican. We spent 3 days in Santiago, the second largest city in the country. Here we learned how to drive with absolutely no regard for streets signs and basic rules of the road. Passing on a blind corner of a two lane highway...perfectly fine. Red light...stopping optional. One way street...only until you see someone coming towards you. Motorcycles in the US seat two people...in the Dominican they seat a family of four while carrying a ladder. The video was taken near the beach so it doesn't really show the city driving, but still worth the viewing. Sorry this is the wrong vidoe check the next one out

L was a trooper for the entire trip. We are so proud of her. Here is a shot of her with A at the mom's house in Santiago . Another one of her on the airplane sitting in daddy's seat.

Here is mommy on the beach of Puerto Plato and daddy in the pool.

Well out of time for this one. I know it is not much but a start.
